Receive customized correction of skin concerns with chemical peel treatment
One of the biggest benefits of chemical peels in our Jacksonville dermatology practice is the ability to customize treatment to the individual based on skin type and specific concerns. We customize care by manipulating the variables of treatment, such as the type and concentration of acid solution and the duration this solution is left on the skin. In our development of the ideal combination, we are able to treat concerns such as melasma, sun damage, age spots, blocked pores, hyperpigmentation, and acne.
Types of peelsThere are several types of chemical peels available at The Spa & Laser Center at Southside Dermatology. Light peels, which contain ingredients such as glycolic acid, lactic acid, mandelic acid, or other mild ingredients, treat the superficial layer of skin and produce no downtime. After treatment, it is possible to return to normal activities right away.
Stronger peels will treat deeper layers of skin and will produce effects such as redness and peeling. In the days following a medium or deep chemical peel, it is advisable to avoid direct sunlight and to take special care of the skin. Flaking may continue for several days. During this time, the skin should not be picked at and it should be kept moist and protected from sun exposure.
Dr. Pentel has assembled the best products in the area of skin care and chemical peels. Our clients can achieve specific goals with treatments developed by a leader in the field of esthetic skin care, Physician’s Choice of Arizona, Inc. The results of chemical peel treatment can be maximized with a healthy skin care regimen. Depending on the depth of peel, treatments may be repeated as needed for continued renewal.
