Lasers for Redness and Vessels

Lasers for Redness and Vessels
When patients visit The Spa & Laser Center at Southside Dermatology with concerns about redness, leg veins, blood vessels, and rosacea, our team can provide effective solutions. In our state-of-the-art practice, we carry some of the most advanced lasers for treating redness and blood vessels, which include:
  • Gemini® 532 nm
  • Gemini® 1064 nm
  • Vbeam Perfecta®
  • GentleMax Pro® 1064 nm
  • Palomar® IPL
All of these lasers are specifically developed to target specific types of blood vessels and redness giving Dr. Mary Pentel the versatility needed in tailoring treatments. Sun damaged skin with brown spots may be treated with IPL therapy while the Vbeam Perfecta® laser is best for birthmarks, red spots, redness, and rosacea. Blood vessels are no match for the GentleMax Pro® or the Gemini® lasers. Dr. Mary Pentel can evaluate the skin to determine the best combination of treatments and the best lasers for the job.

These lasers can be used for a variety of indications including:
  • Sun damaged skin
  • Scars/Keloids
  • Birthmarks including Port Wine Stains
  • Stretch Marks
  • Acne Rosacea
  • Facial veins
  • Leg veins
  • Spider and cherry angiomas
IPL, or "intense pulsed light" treatment, is used to deliver pulses of effective, safe, visible light that can rejuvenate the skin without downtime and discomfort while dramatically reducing the risks typically involved with other treatment options. IPL treatment is best for the signs of aging and sun damage, reducing problems such as redness, sun spots, and uneven tone. The Vbeam® laser is one of the most effective options for reducing redness and flushing associated with conditions such as rosacea, especially since many patients are on medications, which cannot address these physical elements of the skin problem. With IPL treatment, many patients are able to reduce or completely discontinue the use of oral medications for this skin condition.

IPL treatments can be used anywhere on the body, but they are typically avoided for patients with darker skin. Alternative solutions may be suggested during a consultation appointment to determine what is best for those dealing with veins and redness. Dr. Mary Pentel has a wide range of technologies available in her facility, which make it easy for her to develop an appropriate treatment plan for each individual.
